Love can be imagined as the expression of one’s feelings that describes the commitment, desire, and connection towards another person or persons.  The positive feelings move beyond self-interest and may likely have positive influence on the other person.  Love encourages authenticity and one’s desire to pursue a healthy lifestyle.  Love is never possessive, manipulative, or causes another person to lose their sense of reality.

Relationship issues revolve around defensive ways of relating to one another that build up over time.  The defense mechanisms that once protected us from the awareness of painful feelings in childhood make their way into our adult relationships and become a hindrance to fully giving and receiving love with the other partner.

Couples therapy works to break through the defense mechanisms by understanding how we recreate our childhood experiences in hopes of finding a different outcome.  By facing the very earlier fears which we avoided, we can open ourselves up to new possibilities in relationships.  Exploring our narratives as individuals and couples gives us a chance to differentiate the negative influences from the persons involved and strengthen our capacity for intimacy.

Couples Therapy Cost is 170€ per 50 minute session.
